Rosella’s Story
In the fall of 2023, Alixandra Petrovich, a New Orleans native, and her business partner, Paul McCaige, founded Rosella. Alixandra used her 20 years of experience in the film industry combined with the memory of her grandmother to create a restaurant that resonates with both beauty and comfort. Many who knew her described Rosella as avante-garde or a woman ahead of her time. Alixandra wanted the restaurant to reflect this sentiment while also paying tribute to the neighborhood and the building it calls home.
Rosella, Alixandra’s grandmother, made her home in New Orleans in 1949. She was passionate about the arts - writing, ballet, and singing. She raised her three children in New Orleans, and her daughter, Romney, remained in New Orleans where she raised her two daughters in the Mid City neighborhood of New Orleans.
Rosella the restaurant, much like Rosella the woman, is different. It’s creative but comfortable. A neighborhood restaurant and one that prides itself on its food and the neighborhood it calls home. The cuisine is diverse - Louisiana at its core but with twists thanks to its executive chef, Tal Jones. Chef Jones creates a menu that uses fresh ingredients and promotes nostalgia with a playful twist, like our famous corndog that is an andouille sausage wrapped in sweet, crisp cornbread. We feature specials each week which include fresh Louisiana seafood and steaks cooked to perfection.
Enjoy the food, the neighborhood, the drinks, and experience. Come join us at Rosella for dinner or brunch, and say hello.
